Alexander - Berlins Capital Tower - A New Sight in the Heart of Berlin
Right on Alexanderplatz, in the very heart of Germany’s capital and at the city’s main interchange, the tallest skyscraper in Berlin’s city centre is taking shape. Rising 150 metres, with 38 storeys and a floor space of 53,000 square metres, Alexander Tower embodies the grand architecture of a new urban vision for Berlin’s city centre.
Alexander Tower is situated at Alexanderplatz, a major public transport hub in the historic centre of Berlin and just a stone’s throw from the Red Town Hall, the Nikolai quarter, the grand boulevard “Unter den Linden” as well as the lively area around Hackescher Markt and Oranienburger Strasse.
The slender, elegant tower with its coherent, geometrical form was designed by Ortner & Ortner Baukunst and inspired by the architecture of New Objectivity and Russian Constructivism. When completed, it will be a lofty, light-filled residence offering a remarkable view.
